Former Raider Garrett Roe Named to U.S. Olympic Team

Former Reston Raiders player, Garrett Roe, was named by USA Hockey to the roster that will participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in PyeongChang South Korea from February 9th - February 25th.

Garrett is currently playing for EV Zug in the Swiss National League and is currently leading his team in scoring with 37 points (10 goals and 27 assists).

Raiders 8U & 10U Players Skate with the Caps

On November 11th, over 60 Raiders 8U and 10U players visited Kettler Capitals Iceplex where they watched the Washington Capitals practice, then got to take the ice and hold a practice of their own.

Washington Capitals players Madison Bowey, Jakub Vrana, and Christian Djoos, joined our players and coaches and assisted in running the practice.

Raiders Kinsel Wins Caps Shooout - Leads Banner Crop of Raiders

Owen Kinsel, goalie for the Reston Raiders 10U 2008 Blue team, won the 2017-2018 Washington Capitals Youth Hockey Shootout, 10U (Squirt) Division.  On Tuesday, October 17, between the 2nd and 3rd period of the Caps game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs, Kinsel saved 2 of 3 shots and has won air fare, hotel, and tickets to the NHL All-Star Game in Tampa Bay, FL January 28, 2018.  Owen, along with his shooter partner, Brayden Wade from the Piedmont Predators, will represent the Washington Capitals in the shootout against other NHL markets.

The Raiders are well represented in the other age division of the Caps Youth Hockey Shootout Finals.  The Raiders lead all local area clubs, with five players, (3 Goaltenders and 2 Shooters) qualifying to represent the State of Virginia in the Finals.
